Duties: Reporting directly to the Director of ULAR, and indirectly to the Associate Provost for Finance & Planning, Office of the Provost, the Associate Director is responsible for the overall management of ULAR's budget, finances, and business processes. The Associate Director works with ULAR senior leadership and the Provost's Office to develop short and long-term budgets. This individual will develop and implement financial guidelines, policies and procedures for ULAR, and identify and implement business process improvements. As part of ULAR senior leadership s/he will participate in strategic planning; produce and utilize data collections and reporting to provide analysis, projections, forecasts, etc. to support short and long range term planning; oversee day-to-day handling of financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, and service center billing; serve as primary liaison with Provost Office Human Resources issues for ULAR related issues, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and developing long-term organizational staffing plans; oversee procurement within ULAR; supervise 4 person business office, including animal procurement; liaison, including documenting business processes and requirements, with ISC desktop support and application programming groups.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Business, advance degree preferred and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Leadership skills and ability to work with diverse team
Previous supervisory experience
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional quality
Knowledge of Penn systems preferred
Prior experience with financial software project management is preferred - Conceptualize and implement system and process improvements seeking the best technological solutions when possible; provide training in these new areas.
