Advertised Job Summary
To answer incoming calls to the Palmetto Poison Center. Job duties include handling requests from health professionals and the public for poison control and drug information. Will appropriately document calls in the computer data base utilized in the Center. Will provide instruction and supervision for student assistants. This position is established in support of expanded research activities or projects.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Master's degree in nursing or bachelor's degree in nursing and 2 years experience; or diploma from accredited school of nursing and 3 years experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in SC. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to communicate medical information to health care professionals and to the public over the telephone under crisis circumstances is essential. Knowledge of basic data entry and documentation necessary. Capable of making immediate and accurate professional decisions in providing information and consultations.
