The Senior Director of Information Technology will report to the Dean of the Kornberg School of Dentistry (KSoD). In this role they will provide leadership, oversight and management of the entire technical functions within the Kornberg School of Dentistry (KSoD). This includes providing expertise of KSoD clinical management system (axiUm). The position will be responsible for all IT activities, ensuring change management process, production outage, inventory management and capacity planning is met. The candidate must have expertise in axiUm and can write programs to generate operational statistics. Extensive programming experience in axiUm including demonstrated expertise in using axiUm to improve clinical operations and management. In particular, high proficiency creating and customizing axiUm forms is required, as well as proficiency on developing non-axiUm forms and reports that connect to axiUm to optimize information collection and analysis in the clinics, surpassing limitations in axiUm forms and reports.

The candidate will oversee the development, implementations and documentation of standards, procedures, processes, guidelines and policies. They will identify opportunities as they present themselves relating to enhancement of the testing process and supports integration into other technology processes. Establishes strategic objectives for technical operations and makes recommendations for clinical and academic strategies. Develop and produce appropriate management reports for KSoD leadership. Lead team and manage their day to day including managing the day to day and operations and participating in performance management of the KSoD IT Staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, System Analysis, or Software Engineering along with 4 or more years of related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

* Prior experience leading and managing a team.

* Extensive programming experience in axiUm.

* Demonstrated Crystal Reporting and Oracle skills, including creation and utilization of databases and triggers.

* Ability to create and execute SQL scripts.

* Demonstrated strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

* Demonstrated skills in end user consulting, training, and application development.

* Ability to manage projects, working knowledge of all applicable computer software, and management skills (including planning negotiations, and communication skills).

* Excellent spoken and written communications as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical audience.

* Demonstrated skills in end user consulting, training, and application development.

* Ability to work with deadlines and changing priorities in a complex environment.

* Familiarity with World Wide Web, Web Editor, Etc.
