This is a full-time, benefits eligible, at will position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. but may vary based on operational needs.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Infrastructure and Operations, the University Computing Services (UCS) Director provides strategic leadership and oversight of the UCS data center and campus cloud services. The incumbent provides vision, governance, and direction for department personnel and budget management; design, architecture, and operations of the UCS computing environment; Azure cloud services; disaster recovery; and participates with California State University and SDSU technical working groups.

- Bachelor's degree in an information technology-related field
- Experience leading information technology projects which have complex requirements and contain many technical components and interfaces
- Experience managing enterprise systems
- Experience managing and/or supervising technical personnel in at least one of the following areas: computer networking, programming/development, computer systems, and related technologies
- Experience leading large teams with enterprise system implementation.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
- Professional experience in a higher education, public agency, government, military, commercial, or other large, complex environment.
- Professional experience with Microsoft Azure environment and technologies
- Four years of supervisory experience in an information technology environment
- Experience managing staff in a collective bargaining organization
