Job Description Summary:
The laboratory’s interest is in the pathogenesis and treatment of myasthenia gravis. We have several projects focused on therapeutic development pre-clinically and clinically. We use rats and mice, including transgenic mice, in assessment of experimentally acquired myasthenia gravis. We also perform human studies of circulating white blood cells, thymus, and serum. Some investigations are focused on biomarker discovery using miRNA profiling, and cytokine evaluation. A variety of methods are used including: immuno-fluorescent microscopy, ELISA, flow cytometry, qPCR, and behavioral assessments of animals. The laboratory is further expanding its study of myasthenia gravis and its animal models. The Research Assistant’s duties include performing experiments, collecting, analyzing and reporting data, preparing literature reviews, maintaining supply inventory, and related tasks.Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a BA/BS in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science; lab experience in immunology or molecular biology is desirable. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
