Oversee, schedule, plan, and deliver technical support and services (audio/visual, media, and computer) for events in the state-of-the-art 186,000 square foot Dudley H Davis Center including, conferences, meetings, concerts, events, and programs. Responsible for selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of 15-20 student Technical Assistants who provide daily and event-specific technical support. Consult with event clients, including student organizations, UVM departments, and external clients, throughout the planning of events and manage the execution and delivery of technical services. Ensure technical support and outstanding customer service is delivered for events in the Davis Center through pre-planning efforts, staff scheduling, execution, and assessment. Serve in a leadership role within the Davis Center Events Team supporting group efforts and representing the team in the absence of the Assistant Director for Operations and Event Services (Admin Coord). Maintain and manage an estimated $600,000 inventory of audio/visual and other technical systems. Support and encourage environmentally sound practices throughout the Davis Center. Provide oversight of audio/visual equipment and customer support services. Attend staff meetings and ongoing developmental training as required. Actively engage in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Associate's degree in a related field and five years related work experience including demonstrated technical project leadership experience required. Supervisory and troubleshooting experience required. Attention to detail, effective interpersonal, communication, organizational skills required. Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and work productively on teams and independently. Demonstrated commitment to a high standard of customer service required.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with sound mixing, audio recording, theatrical and lighting design highly desirable. Knowledge of digital signage, wireless systems, Crestron automation systems, and training development desirable. Ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the institution highly desirable.
