Job description

Duties: Plan/perform research and administrative tasks in an evolving, medium-sized research group that concentrates in tobacco addiction research, including Phase II medication trials, behavioral treatment studies, and broader cancer control research. The successful candidate will have experience collecting research data, interacting with research participants and working well as part of a team. Specific activities include: (1) consent participants; (2) conduct eligibility screenings, reminder calls and follow-up surveys by telephone; (3) conduct psychological screening interviews (MINI); (4) administer computer-based neurocognitive tasks; (5) collect physiological laboratory assessments (e.g., blood pressure, urine and saliva samples); (6) administer paper and pencil questionnaire measures; and (7) perform routine session prep work, data entry, and quality assurance activities; and (8) conduct behavioral smoking cessation counseling sessions based upon IRB approved, structured protocols.

Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred. The successful candidate will have 1-2 years' experience collecting research data, interacting with research participants and working well as part of a team., The successful candidate should also possess skills in time management, attention to detail, problem solving, clear communication and work well in a fast-paced team environment. Some evening and weekend hours required. Other qualifications include: data entry experience; good organization, communication and critical thinking skills; and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in short turnaround time.
