Job Description Summary

This is a full-time, twelve-month, exempt position, which reports to the Vice President of Student Affairs. The Director of Admissions is responsible for recruiting, admitting, and enrolling undergraduate students at Georgia Highlands College to achieve enrollment targets. The Director draws upon best practices to plan and implement marketing and technology-driven recruitment and communications efforts, outreach, and application processing. The Director consults with college leadership regarding recruitment and admissions activities. The Director interacts closely with the academic leadership, student services staff, as well as coordinates with college-wide enrollment initiatives. The Director also participates in admissions policy-making and shared governance committees of the college.

Key Qualifications

A Master’s degree is required. Candidate must have five to seven years of experience in Higher Education admissions.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include: Plans, organizes, and directs college student recruitment and admissions activities. Oversees training and development of admissions team. Performs market research analysis and provides enrollment projections and reports to GHC leadership, participates in and prepares for audits of admissions records, coordinates incoming student needs and requirements with the Offices of Financial Aid, Registrar, Student Accounts Receivable, and other academic and student support units. Provides student recruitment and admissions data to college leadership during key enrollment checkpoints. Manages and supervises the certification processes for international students, updates and maintains the college’s admissions and recruitment operating procedures manual, ensures that admissions procedures and policies remain in compliance with federal, state, university system and college regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong computer proficiency, especially in the Banner student information system is required; Proficiency in report writing, query and extract tools such as Crystal, Excel, etc. is expected. Must have excellent verbal/written communication and supervisory skills as well as interpersonal relationship and outstanding customer service skills.
