Administrative Public Safety Analyst

The (Public Safety) Analyst provides executive level administrative and analytical support directly to the Chief of Police of UCI. This role is responsible for supporting the operation of all police divisions, both operationally and financially, through the Office of the Chief. Working with division managers/directors throughout the police department, Analyst will have significant responsibility for driving improvements across the department. The Analyst serves as the project manager for department initiatives derived from the Office of the Chief; to include division operation projects, UCI and A&BS strategic initiatives and other major project initiatives. The Analyst develops and manages community engagement and outreach programs, as well as department-wide meeting and events. The special projects component of the position requires overseeing, with independence, a range of department-wide activities such as tracking & reporting goals, collecting data to support a project or to measure a projects impact, and improving communications, outcomes and strategies.The Analyst monitors and maintains all training records for each department employee, to ensure compliance with mandates. Ensure all employees are informed of potential non-compliance issues. Advise managers on training trends and potential training liabilities. Identifies training needs. Writes department training bulletins. The executive level administrative support component of the position requires managing a busy and complex schedule for the Chief of Police and overseeing matters related to the Office of the Chief. The Analyst may play a supporting role directly with the Police Administration on budgeting and other financial projects.

Salary: Hourly Range $23.58 - $28.85
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F
Career Position.
Must complete and successfully pass a law enforcement level background check.
Must maintain a valid California driver license and participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program.
Must be willing to assist in the event of an emergency.
Final candidate subject to background check.
