Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is a small, private college in Newton, Massachusetts, just minutes from Boston which provides career focused programs built upon a strong foundation in the social sciences, humanities and the arts, all developed and implemented to prepare our approximately 1,400 students for success in their chosen fields of endeavor.

This individual will be an integral part of the School of Design team and will assist the Dean with coordination of the Summer Design Week Program for high school students. He/she will be responsible for residential programming oversight the program. Summer Design Week will require staff supervision as well as evening programming implementation. - Responsible for oversight of the Summer Design Week program.
This program itself will run from July 22- July 28, 2018.

The responsibilities include:
* Attending meetings with the Dean and other Design Week staff; providing updates on the progress of Design Week plans prior to the execution of the program
* Hiring, training & supervision of Design Mentors assigned to this program
* Advance planning of evening activities for implementation on student arrival adhering to Mount Ida College policies and budgetary requirements.
* Participating in check-in and check-out assuring that proper procedures are followed in order to ensure accuracy
* Serving in an on-call capacity for the duration of this program
* Providing a summary report of Design Week, including collection/ consolidation of relevant materials (letters, forms, contracts, activities notes, contact names, etc.) from the planning of Design Week, and from the week the program runs.
* Be prepared to remain on campus during the Design Week Program run.
* 9 Week Contract June 4 - August 3.
* Other duties as assigned.- Minimum Bachelor's degree required. Visa status must permit campus employment.
- Previous experience as a Resident Assistant highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population of students, Residence Life staff and campus community members. Diversity includes race, gender culture, nationality, sexual orientation, gender expression and ability.
- Ability to climb stairs and travel by foot is required.- Ability to organize work, exercise good judgment, complete tasks in a timely manner, collaborate, perform routine supportive tasks such as scheduling and record keeping.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; proficiency in another language a plus.
- Enthusiasm, creativity, initiative, and flexibility.
