Assessor & Training Specialist

Job description

Responsible for providing training and technical assistance for early childhood organizations at the local, state, and national level. Will provide evaluations of state early childhood programs, conduct inter-reliability assessments, reviews reports, and may also provide trainings on specific evaluation tools.

-Provides evaluation of state early childhood programs using the Environment Rating Scales, Classroom Assessment Scoring System tools and the Program/Business Administration Scales
-Prepares and submits evaluation reports according to the required time frame and criteria
-Participates in inter-rater reliability training for all required evaluation tools and maintains required level of reliability
-Ensures accurate documentation and protocol for the Illinois State Board of Education Compliance Checklist
-Attends all staff, assessment team and supervision meetings
-When requested, conducts and provides ExceleRate trainings on specific evaluation tools

Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree strongly preferred in early childhood education or related field. Teaching or administrative experience in the field of early childhood education. Willingness to travel within the State of Illinois. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge. Prior experience in early childhood assessment preferred. Willingness to attend ongoing training to retain certification or reliability in administering and interpreting results for different program assessments. High level of prior leadership experience and skill. High level of reliability on observation tools.
