About the Position

The University of Texas of the Permian Basin invites applications and nominations for the position of Talent Acquisition Specialist beginning Summer 2018.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven, skilled multi-tasker with a deep understanding of the full recruitment cycle and a hyper focus on ensuring the best fit is found for each open position. In addition to being independent and energetic, the Talent Acquisition Specialist must be compliance-focused, understand higher education needs, possess strong technology and wordsmith skills, and have an entrepreneurial spirit, frequently utilizing outside-the-box methods to attract candidates.

A department of Business Affairs, the mission of Human Resources is to support the University’s efforts by attracting, developing and supporting a diverse community of University employees who are engaged in their work, and motivated to perform at their full potential; to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and value of UTPB’s Human Resources systems, processes and practices; and to provide greater transparency, communication, and accountability for Human Resources processes and services.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, personnel administration, or other appropriate discipline and a PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification. Minimum of five years of experience in a strategic recruiting role with an emphasis on recruitment, employment services or talent acquisition administration. Demonstrable track record of delivering against recruiting targets. Fluency in web-based recruiting tools, including social media and job boards, and applicant-tracking systems. Proven experience in recruiting high-quality candidates at all levels with a focus on sustained pipeline development and sourcing passive candidates. Deep knowledge of HR processes and systems, HR legal compliance, and the use of social media to support talent acquisition. Excellent planning, time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, organization and interpersonal skills. Outside-the-box thinker who fosters creative recruitment ideas yet has an acute sense for details. Ability to pass a criminal background check.
