The AVP will be a superb storyteller in his/her own right with an ability to quickly understand the unique Clemson culture and help shape the university's story in ways that resonate both with members of the Clemson community and outside stakeholders. S/he will work closely with senior staff members across the division to create a progressive, unified, results-oriented organization dedicated to serving the university's interests and those of its students, faculty and staff.

The AVP will serve as a senior leader and chief crisis communications officer; play a leading role in managing Clemson's media interactions, including as the university's spokesperson; and will work closely with the university's Executive Leadership Team and other stakeholders.
