Associate Head Ice Hockey Coach

The Associate Head Ice Hockey Coach will be responsible for working alongside the Head Ice Hockey Coach in all aspects of the program to facilitate the development, both academically and athletically, of every Ice Hockey Student-Athlete. Additionally, this person will manage all aspects of recruitment, take on all aspects of competitive game scheduling, act as the liaison with Miami University Admissions and NCAA Compliance, and serve as the primary point person to the program's Academic Coordinator. Furthermore, this person will work alongside the Head Coach to assess and continually evaluate the program's needs in the areas of sports medicine, strength and conditioning, program marketing, department compliance, alumni relations, and facility management.
This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
Oversee and manage all aspects of student-athlete recruitment, which includes, but is not limited to; preparation of recruiting schedules, making recruiting visits, and process accepted student-athletes within the guidelines of the NCAA, Mid-American Conference, and NCHC;
Monitor the recruitment budget; Manage and oversee all scholarship allocations to student-athletes;
Act as the lead in monitoring (along with the Academic Coordinator) of student-athlete academic progress; Manage, with assistance from the Head Coach, all competitive game scheduling;
Act as the lead in managing all NCAA Compliance and Miami University Admissions aspects related to the program; Assist in organization of team practice sessions, on-ice coaching, pre and post-game analysis, strength and conditioning sessions, and competition day duties;
Teach three (3) weeks of the Miami University Summer Hockey School; Assist with the video analysis of team and individual players; Assist in developing and writing team rules and policies; Assist with team travel and other off-ice administrative duties;
Other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
Bachelor's Degree; Playing or coaching experience in Division 1 NCAA College Hockey;
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with prospective student-athletes, current student-athletes, staff and University personnel; Strong organizational skills;
