General Summary: The Vice President and Chief of Staff is the Colleges Chief Operations Officer, serving as a member of the President's Cabinet and reports directly to the College President. He or she represents the College President in his or her absence on strategic, administrative, and operational matters. The Vice President and Chief of Staff has broad and comprehensive responsibilities for the success of Colleges operations with regards to administrative affairs and strategic planning. In addition, he or she is expected to work in collaboration with faculty, staff, administrators, and leadership applying data, assessment, best practices, and continuous improvement.

Requirements: Master's Degree required, 8+ years' experience in leadership/management role, proven track record of effectively interacting with senior management, ability to work strategically and collaboratively across administrative offices and in a complex environment, effective, versatile and action-oriented, natural and confident leader, excellent oral and written communication skills, consulting and operations expertise, strong interpersonal skills and a talent for productive collaboration across varying offices and departments, detail oriented and data driven, can successfully organize and direct large teams of people, encouraging, can-do attitude, effective manager, impeccable time management and multi-tasking skills, business minded and strategic planner, ability to analyze and compile large sets of data and present effective reports, highly experienced with project coordinating and management, self-motivated and self-sufficient, proven creative thinker with strong management acuity, and an energetic leader with a positive attitude and a go-getter drive.


1. Collaborate with President's Cabinet in the development, collaboration, and implementation of the College's strategic plan, development of the new workforce development center, high priority cross-campus initiatives and special projects assigned by the President.

2. Manage and provide oversight of daily College operations and help oversee projects of high importance.

3. Coordinate the execution of strategic initiatives.

4. Coordinate strategic business initiatives and guide to completion.

5. Build capacity and provide direct oversight of the staff operations of the President's Office and effectively direct and manage the flow of communication, projects, and resolutions of issues that arise.

6. Oversee all activities related to the Center for Community Partnerships and External Affairs; which includes K-12 partners, Shapiro Center for Learning; Remake Learning, community partners, business and industry, and government and external affairs.

7. In collaboration with the Provost and Campus Presidents, manage relationships and agreements with K-12 partners, community partners, government officials, business, and industry.

8. Implement systems, workflows and principles that ensure the President's time and attention are strategically directed.

9. Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and metrics

10. Ensure careful preparation of meeting materials, including briefings, presentations, scripts and remarks.

11. Keep the College President apprised of significant events and major projects.

12. Assess inquiries directed to the college president, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage.

13. Organize and coordinate staff functions and activities.

14. Write and submit reports to the President.

15. Perform other duties as assigned by the College President.

The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
