Job description

Duties: The Operations and Data Analyst provides process, reporting, and technical leadership for the Office of the University Registrar. The Analyst is an energetic, positive and forward thinking member of a growing team working to modernize the office to improve customer service.
-Provides technical and reporting leadership for the Office of the University Registrar's systems. Ensure the integrity of student records, efficient and effective daily operations within systems, and meets most reporting needs of the office.
-Analyzes and interprets data to produce regular and ad hoc reports to internal University constituents:
-Partners with the Business Systems Analyst to analyze technical processes and data extracts for external vendors including the National Student Clearinghouse, Gainful Employment reporting, Solomon Amendment and FERPA requests.
-Additionally, the Analyst will develop a modern workflow tool for handling, reviewing, and processing student system access requests. Reviewing and provisioning appropriate access to some information systems also falls into this role.
-The Analyst will also be a member of relevant SRFS and University committees and teams pertaining to data and institutional research.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Major in statistics, business, computer science, mathematics, or other related field and 3-5 years of comparable work experience preferred.
-At least two years of experience in planning, information analysis, program evaluation, or research. -Strong data analysis, systems and reporting experience needed; knowledge of reporting tools (such as Business Objects, Informer, etc) preferred.
-Some project management experience desired.
-Strong analytical skills with solid database management and business process analysis experience; able to interpret and analyze information needs; and strong report writings skills.
-Experience working with various large data sources, extracting and manipulating data from multiple and diverse database sources by designing, refining and running complex data queries.
-The successful candidate will possess initiative, be results oriented and have leadership abilities.
-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff and faculty; excellent organization skills with the ability to plan and manage multiple projects; able to work independently and as part of a team.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated with an aptitude to learn quickly and comprehend University business and technical concepts.
-Experience working effectively in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
-Ability to communicate knowledge and ideas in a consultative matter to a variety of audiences including senior leadership.
