Minimum Education/Experience: DDS or DMD (or equivalent) from an appropriately accredited institution. Certificate from a CODA-accredited Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program and Board certification in pediatric dentistry. At least 3 years full-time faculty experience.

Job Duties: The Director of the Pediatric Dentistry residency program will be responsible for designing and implementing this program at the new East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. Pediatric dentistry residents will primarily receive their training at the School of Dental Medicine's Greenville location, in both the dental school and hospital settings. The Director will be responsible for program design- including didactic and clinical curriculum development and coordination of training in the program. The Director reports directly to the Department Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. Specific duties include: Developing the curriculum for a new Pediatric Dentistry residency program, including didactic and clinical components. Preparing appropriate Commission on Dental Accreditation documentation, including self-study documents. Preparing and submitting grants to secure additional funding for this program. Developing admission standards, recruiting, and selecting residents. Hiring and supervising clinical and administrative staff. Hiring and supervising full and part-time faculty for the program. Working with and coordinating didactic and clinical activities with other ECU dental school residency program. Providing clinical teaching in ambulatory and hospital settings. Preparing performance evaluations for residents and staff, financial reports, accreditation reports, and other reports as necessary. Other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Fixed term or tenure-track position available at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level.
