This position is responsible for providing administrative support for the Director of Athletics and the operations of the department.  

Training and Experience:

A two-year degree, having successfully completed courses in business communications, data processing/software application, typewriting/word processing and general office procedures, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 
Knowledge of institution and University System of Georgia policies and procedures. 
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs. 
Ability to write correspondence such as agendas, meeting minutes and other correspondence. 
The ability to detect and correct grammatical and spelling errors written in correspondence. 
Ability to accurately prepare and maintain files. 
Must be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, coaches, student-athletes and other university departments. 
Must provide a high level of customer service. 
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
Skills with prioritizing and organizing work. 
Skills in the management of files and records. 
Skills in the use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machines and copier.  

Testing Requirements:

Clerical testing will be administered regardless of previous education or experience and must be scheduled and taken by the application's deadline. Please call (229) 430-1631 for scheduling.  

Illustrative Examples of Work:

Prepares purchase requisitions and check requests for all state, foundation, booster and agency accounts. 
Prepares deposit transmittals for all state, foundation, booster and agency accounts. 
Maintains athletic game contracts for all sport programs. 
Maintains office supply inventory and makes purchases as needed 
Assist with facilitating team travel arrangements and requests for programs. 
Maintains program budget books for all sport programs. 
Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information; refers to appropriate personnel 
Responsible for recording, editing and disseminating meeting meetings. 
Maintains varied department records. 
Assist with functions of game day operations for all sport programs. 
Assist with scheduling meeting request for the Director of Athletics. 
Assist with travel arrangements for the Director of Athletics. 
Assist with writing, editing and disseminating correspondence for the Director of Athletics. 
Assist with planning and organization of department events. 
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics
