Candidates must hold a MFA degree in Art with a specialization in photography or equivalent experience.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks candidates with distinguished exhibition and professional achievements. They must have the ability to engage with a multidisciplinary Art Department is a significant aspect of the position. Applicants should demonstrate evidence of excellence in teaching comprehensive understanding of historical and contemporary art /photography theory and practice. College level teaching preferred but not required.

Candidates with new or anticipated MFA degrees will have research under way that possesses results through exhibitions or publications, and will have presentation skills that suggest future excellence in teaching.

Position Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Art Department is nationally ranked #15 in Overall Fine Arts Program and #1 in Printmaking from the U.S. News and World Report. The current student population for the department is 200 Undergraduates, 60 Graduates, and 250 Certificate students. The Art Department is committed to teaching art in the context of a major research university and a vibrant intellectual community.
