Functional Title Theatre Manager

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track Theatre Manager in a Lecturer position in the School of Theatre, College of Visual and Performing Arts.
The School of Theatre seeks applications for a full-time Theatre Manager to begin July 1, 2018. This position will work in close collaboration with and report to the Director of the School of Theatre. She or he will also have a significant role in reinvigorating all marketing, ticketing, and front of house operations.
Plan and implement promotion and publicity for large, complex academic theatre production program for School of Theatre (main stage and studio series; 8 - 10 productions), and the North Carolina Theatre for Young People (2 productions and tour).
Oversee all marketing materials related to School of Theatre recruitment.
Supervise and maintain optimal business operations as they relate to ticket sales for theatre productions and work with our contracted ticketing service through the Triad Stage, our professional theatre partners serving the Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem areas as well as develop and oversee all front of house operations. Work with Business Officer to create and maintain income/expenditure spreadsheets for all productions.
Direct audience development and special events including the Theatre Angels organization which supports the work of the School of Theatre, alumni outreach events, Super Saturday undergraduate recruitment event, and other events as assigned.
Supervise graduate and undergraduate students working in the management and front of house area.
Teach one course a semester in Theatre Management, area of expertise, theatre appreciation course, or as assigned.
Participate and collaborate with faculty in service to the School of Theatre and the College of Visual and Performing Arts including student advising, on-campus recruitment, and curriculum development.

Candidates are encouraged to describe how diversity issues have been or will be brought into their teaching and service.
BA or BFA in Arts Administration or commensurate degrees in theatre with extensive professional experience in the areas of marketing and performance facilities management.
Strong preference for candidates with a graduate degree in Theatre Management or Arts Administration; experience working with students in a college theatre environment and in professional theatre. Experience working with graphic design software is strongly desired as is familiarity with various social media platforms. Applicants with appropriate training, ability, and/or professional experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.
