Position Summary: Incumbent ensures scanned images meet quality control standards before releasing records in the electronic medical record system. Assures documentation is properly indexed according to document management system guidelines, and is properly linked to patient and episode.
Rate Minimum $18.38 Midpoint $20.62 Maximum $22.87
Required Qualifications:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystemAbility to independently problem solve and apply sound reasoning to new and/or non-routine situationsAbility to learn to calibrate and maintain scanning equipment and to troubleshoot equipment problems at a second tier levelAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadAbility to perform job functions and make task-related decisions without direct supervisionAbility to perform multiple tasks at the same time without impacting productivity and accuracyComputer operating skills to include login and logoff, opening, closing, saving and copying files and printing documentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishExperience with a computerized medical record applicationGood attention to detail to be able to accurately review scanned images for quality control criteriaGood communication skills to articulate performance improvement opportunities and work with others to improve quality outcomesGood eye-hand coordination to be able to page through stacks of paper and quickly observe misfilesGood keyboard skills with ability to accurately transfer information from eye to keyboard without transposing informationKnowledge of medical terminologyMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMust maintain work product accuracy standards of 95% or betterMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesMust work in accordance with HIPAAPrior experience working in an acute care hospital medical record department
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
