199005 - Director of the Clark Fund
Clark University seeks a dynamic, goal-oriented individual to lead a strategic team of professionals in the annual giving program. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for University Advancement, the Director will be responsible for raising annual gifts for Clark University from alumni, current and past parents, and friends. The Director will also oversee all aspects of the Clark Fund, including direct marketing, annual giving and solicitations, along with class agent and Reunion volunteer programs. He or she will maintain a targeted portfolio of annual fund prospects at the leadership gift level, with emphasis on $10,000 and $25,000 gifts toward the Clark Fund and current use needs at the University. Duties and Responsibilities Primary responsibilities include; develop and execute annual strategic plan, lead growth in overall alumni participation emphasizing donor cultivation, and increasing leadership annual giving to the University. Develop and manage an annual operating budget to achieve established goals. Manage a team of five, work closely with departments on campus to develop and execute strategies to identify and engage volunteers and develop major and principal gift donors. Develop and manage production of print and electronic publications to market the Clark Fund, programs and initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred with a minimum of 5 yrs. experience in annual fundraising in an educational institution with proven success; strong organization, oral and written communications skills. Must have the ability to articulate Clark’s mission as a liberal arts college with distinctive impact based research opportunities for undergraduates and 26 graduate school programs. Strong computer and information management system skills preferred. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, has a strong commitment to teamwork and a great sense of humor. Some travel is required. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, 4 weeks’ vacation, generous retirement plan, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
