Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Provide administrative support for the Rule of Law Collaborative Business Manager and Administrative Coordinator as well as other staff as needed.

Coordinate multiple aspects of staff and non-staff travel, including creating Travel Authorizations, collecting required documents, booking travel and lodging, and processing Travel Reimbursement Vouchers or Expense Reports in accordance with the USC travel policy. Communicate with invited speakers, staff, and students about travel arrangements. Report travel expenses in internal budget spreadsheet.

Assist with planning and coordinating Rule of Law Collaborative projects and events, including preparation of materials, promotion/marketing of events, catering and venue arrangements.

Perform complex administrative tasks and secretarial duties, which may include assisting with vendor set-up and assisting with payment requests in university financial system, greeting and providing excellent customer service to visitors, monitoring supplies for office. Position may include creating a new filing system for ROLC.


Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Detail oriented and has the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Projects a professional impression to all staff, faculty, and students and provides excellent customer service. Able to interpret and apply established University policies and procedures. Ability to set priorities and manage details independently. Able to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions.

Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree and administrative experience preferred. Candidate may be tested in Microsoft Word.
