Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant provides full administrative support to the offices of the Dean of Students (DOS) and the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (AVCSA). As Administrative Assistant to the DOS and AVCSA, this position serves as first point of contact for these offices and manages all aspects of administrative and program support for the Dean and the AVC. Additionally this position supports the areas under the DOS and AVCSA when requested, together these units oversee 8 departments that may require supplemental support from the administrative assistant throughout the calendar year. The Administrative Assistant assists with payroll, leave reports, travel, purchasing, record keeping, scheduling, accounts payable and receivable, and does these tasks in a timely and efficient manner. The Administrative Assistant serves as role model for student employees through customer service, prompt and accurate communication, collaboration, and exceptional follow through on assigned tasks.Bachelor's degree preferred; 3-5 years of administrative experience, particularly in a higher education/student affairs setting residential education, housing, student activities or other student life area. Experience working in a high paced setting; evidence of significant attention to detail; solid written and oral communications skills; ability to problem solve with discretion and deescalate people/situations; shows sound judgment and professionalism; significant budget and record keeping skills; experience working independently and interdependently in a team environment.
