Job Summary

The Instructional Assistant II position provides assistance to all areas within the department

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reserves rooms, orders equipment, creates advertisements/flyers and provides support in classrooms
  • Assists faculty in classrooms as requested
  • Acts as troubleshooter for the department
  • Ensures that all programs, publications and written materials are approved and printed in a timely fashion
  • Ensures that all equipment and set-ups are in place as applicable
  • Supports lab and maintains materials
  • Assists students with course information and registration and identifies and resolves students' concerns and issues related to subject area
  • Designs, prepares and maintains department calendar, publications, files, reports, and other clerical duties for day-to-day operations as required
  • Supervises and schedules student assistants to work in labs
  • Maintains student tutor schedules as assigned
  • Ensures that student assistants submit their time sheets to the payroll processor on time for payroll
  • Assists in hiring and training of tutors and student assistants
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Two years of college (60 credits) from a regionally accredited institution in a related area and two (2) years of related experience
  • All degrees must be from a reginally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, other applicable software, and database applications
  • Possess good oral and written communication skills
  • Possess proficient organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible hours including evening and weekend assignments
  • Ability to provide good inter-personal skills and work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
