We invite candidates to apply for our Academic Advisor position. The Advisor will provide innovative services and programs through collaboration with students, faculty, and staff. These services and programs enhance the quality of the student experience and sustain a student-centered learning environment leading to completion and workforce development. In addition, the Advisor will build supportive and personalized relationships with students and provide opportunities for student to stay connected to their college community. The Academic Advisor will provide quality advising and have responsibility for delivering advising services that address the needs of all students. Additionally, the Advisor will utilize intentional developmental advising methods focused on student success, skill development, and life-long learning. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core value of Service Excellence: respect, competence, responsiveness, and collaboration, in all interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree in counseling, education, human services or related area preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Required: At least one year of professional experience working directly with students in an academic setting in higher education.
Preferred: At least one year of advising experience in an academic setting in higher education. Experience with academic advising. Demonstrated experience with online learning and Internet technology.
