RESEARCH AIDE - DEPT of NEUROSURGERY
Neurosurgery

The Neurosurgery Department at Duke has a translational research position available. The project involves handling Cryptococcus Neoformans, and CFU measurements and working with the meningitis rabbit model.
  • Assist all personnel by maintaining cultures, performing weekly experiments and ordering supplies.
  • Coordinate the development of protocols and the application of new bench top setups and research techniques; assist in writing procedure manuals for data collection, review articles and presentations; review journals, abstracts and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to aid in the planning of new studies.
  • Assist in the compilation and distribution of reports related to research findings.
  • A 2 year commitment is preferred for this position.
