Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree
-Experience working with first generation, economically disadvantaged students in a higher education setting
-Ability to coordinate a variety of work activities and work as part of a team
-Ability to work with diverse populations
-Supervisory experience
-Ability to work some nights and weekends
as required
-Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field
-Master's degree in a STEM field
-Experience working with students pursuing STEM career
-Experience in career counseling, academic advising/coaching, tutoring or mentoring
-Knowledge of special needs of students with disabilities
-Have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a 7-passenger vehicle to transport students to trip destinations.

Job Description:
Responsible for providing professional supervision and support to a grant

Job Duties:
-Coordinate marketing, recruitment, screening and selection activities
-Process Student Support Services STEM (SSS STEM) applications
-Coach assigned caseload of participants, providing support, guidance and encouragement in academic, social, career and personal matters
-Monitor participant progress
-Document coaching contacts
-Hire and train qualified Texas State students for peer tutoring positions and provide ongoing supervision once hired
-Process student requests for tutoring
-Coordinate tutoring and other academic support efforts for STEM courses
-Plan and coordinate cultural and career trips and accompany/drive students on trips
-Develop and facilitate workshops
-Assist with maintenance of website, Facebook page and other social media
-Prepare quarterly newsletter
-Assist with record keeping, program evaluation and ongoing program improvement

**Grant funded position, renewable depending on continued funding.
