Health Care Assistant
This Health Care Assistant position is for a front and back office medical assistant in the MSU HealthTeam Urology Clinic. Daily job duties include, but are not limited to: greeting patients; answering phones and taking messages; beginning patient cases; preparing exam rooms; scheduling appointments and registering patients; processing referrals; facilitating the information stream through the EHR; verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations and consents; scheduling and coordinating tests, special studies and procedures in and outside of the clinic; retrieving and distributing results to physicians; verifying and accurately entering patient information; recording patient history, chief complain; measuring vital signs, patient outcomes, collecting specimen; performing and assisting with procedures, examination and treatments; cleaning and handling instruments and fragile devices; conducting inventory, ordering and preparing supplies; cleaning the post-procedure exam rooms. The selected applicant will have the ability to cross cover positions within the scope of practice in the clinic.Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a medical office setting or in a clinical setting performing routine health assessment tests and obtaining vital signs; experience with electronic health record systems and patient scheduling systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a certified medical assistant with current certification, which must be maintained for the duration of employment.Desired Qualifications
Experience working in a fast paced multi-provider setting; experience with computer scheduling, insurances; experience working with adult and pediatric patient populations; ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment; experience working in a Urology clinic setting.Required Application Materials
