Research Associate/ Research AssistantPosition Summary
Michigan State University invites applicants for a 12-month appointment as a Research Associate/Research Assistant (postdoctoral research fellow) under the supervision of Professor Kristie Dotson in the Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts & Letters. The Department of Philosophy at MSU specializes in engaged philosophy with particular strengths in feminist philosophy, engaged philosophy of science, and environmental philosophy. This fellow will have an unparalleled opportunity to work with a significant population of engaged philosophers on a range of issues facing us today. The position runs for 1 year with the option for renewal for an additional year.
The primary responsibilities of the fellow will be to develop programming, bibliographic materials, publications and online resources that will increase public and scholarly awareness of the potential existence and impact of “structural reality.” The fellow chosen for this position will also be expected to significantly engage the MSU community of feminist epistemologists and philosophers of science who are interested in exploring these issues. The specific responsibilities in these areas will be developed collaboratively with the supervisor and will privilege as much as feasible the fellow’s own specializations.
The Research Associate/Research Assistant (postdoctoral research fellow) will be expected to be in residence at Michigan State University during the entire 12-month appointment.

Doctorate -PhilosophyMinimum Requirements
Applicants should be scholars with a PhD in any humanities, social science field, science field or interdisciplinary field that specializes in feminist epistemology and either philosophy of science or metaphysics, broadly construed. Related research areas, such as sociology of knowledge or engaged, social ontology are also encouraged to apply.Required Application Materials
