Position Summary

This hourly position will provide general administrative and reception support to the Office of First Year Experience (up to 20 hours per week) to facilitate the smooth operation of the university’s new student transition processes and programs, to include the execution of new student orientation.

Required Qualifications

The qualified application will be able to:
-meet and assist diverse groups of people with a variety of concerns, questions, or problems, while still maintaining a pleasant and appropriate demeanor.
-provide a friendly and professional attitude when greeting students and other guests and answering phone calls.
-maintain confidentiality.
-able to use word-processing, email, and student leader selection and program management software.
-use a database effectively to record information and organize it according to specific requests.

A qualified applicant will hold a high school diploma, have two years of professional experience in an office setting, and possess above average computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants who have five years of professional experience working in higher education and/or event management are preferred.
