The National College of Education (NCE) at National Louis University’s (NLU) Florida Regional Center seeks a dynamic, high-quality educator for a full-time Educational Leadership faculty (10-month contract) at the Assistant Professor rank (or rank commensurate with qualifications and experience). We are currently seeking a colleague with extensive leadership experience at the school and/or district level. This position includes teaching prospective principals and superintendents, preparing candidates to develop a strong foundation in classroom assessment and evidence-based decision-making, research project design and using data analysis for PK-16 improvement. Experience in program evaluation and policy advocacy at the P-12 or higher education levels would be welcomed

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
•Teach/coordinate educational leadership courses related to PreK-16 teaching and learning.
o Apply learning technologies such as Desire2Learn and LiveText.
•Support educational leadership research by program candidates at the masters and doctoral levels
•Support Florida leader internships
•Contribute to curriculum development and program improvement by collaborating with faculty in program and unit level evaluation, to develop program reports, assessment protocols, and support Department of Education reporting in the state of Florida
•Advise Educational Leadership graduate students, including service on dissertation committees
•Contribute to the Educational Leadership program development, management and partnership coordination in Florida
•Work with NLU Florida faculty and staff to advance the exposure and reputation of National Louis University students, and of National Louis University as a leading practitioner educator in Florida
•Fulfill other faculty duties in Research & Scholarship, Service, Professional Development & Engagement domains as they pertain to Florida and NCEprograms in Florida
This position could begin work either in the Summer or Fall 2018 term and will be home-based, in Florida, but will require flexibility to teach/visit all of our Florida learning sites depending on need.
The successful candidate will model excellence in teaching with a strong foundation in improving the climate of the school; analyzing complex social, economic, political, and other factors in contemporary problems facing schools; selecting, implementing, and evaluating initiatives; and research training appropriate to mentoring graduate students.
Successful position candidates will demonstrate experience and skill in both face-to-face and online teaching with adult learners. Successful candidates will be comfortable networking with peer professionals in support of National louis University, its programs and students.Term over term instructional schedule will vary, as classes run on weeknights and on Saturdays. Instructors will need to be able to respond to student and collegial communications within 48 hours.
Qualified applicants for the Educational Leadership position must possess an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, or a related field, with experience in conducting applied research in classrooms/school/district settings, and higher education teaching experience commensurate with rank. Candidate should have at least three-five years of leadership experience. Preference is given to candidates who have served as Principals, Superintendents or in other District Leadership Positions.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience and fluency teaching in blended settings using a learning management system.
