The Art Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year replacement, Visiting Assistant Professor of Art in Drawing and Animation. MFA or equivalent and a minimum of two years teaching experience at the college level required. Demonstrated interest in contributing to a contemporary interdisciplinary setting with an increasingly diverse student body is desirable. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address the ways in which you would further the College’s goal of building a diverse educational environment. Responsibilities include teaching five courses for the year, including three in drawing and two in animation. A working knowledge of the historical and theoretical fine art discourse surrounding drawing is expected. Ability to teach an introductory animation course that includes a combination of stop motion, hand drawn, and digitally created projects is also necessary. Must be conversant with Photoshop and Mojo (formerly Anime Studio) or similar animation software. Hamilton College offers competitive salary and benefits.
