I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

University Human Resources is currently seeking an HR Associate to join a fast paced and dynamic environment responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources services on human capital matters. The HR Associates are HR generalists, and are part of a team which serves as the primary contact between the department and/or school with a high level of engagement with HR's other subject matter experts departments.

Reporting to the HR Director or HR Manager, HR Associates work directly with divisions or schools and partner with staff as well as subject matter experts within University Human Resources to support the Division's or School's HR requirements/needs. We are looking for qualified candidates who bring HR experience in recruitment, compensation, HRIS, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, performance management and organizational development.

In addition, HR Associates are responsible for:
•Initiating and coordinating, in accordance with the university policies and procedures, the recruitment process for various departmental positions including but not limited to processing new hires, conducting reference checks, background verifications as well as assisting managers with the on-boarding process
•Developing and maintaining tools and programs to manage and support the maintenance, tracking, and reporting of departmental information and metrics pertaining to internal human resource activities as well as operational and strategic initiatives of the department.
•Support the overall performance management process by assisting the department or school with the management and delivery of the performance management process
•Assist employees by answering employee requests and questions
•Assist with projects and conducts necessary research
•Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 3 years of relevant experience, or, a Master's degree in a relevant area of study plus 1 year of relevant experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
