Duties: Reporting to the Associate Director of Penn Engineering Online Learning, the Academic Coordinator will manage all functions serving Online Learning graduate students and act as the students' primary point of contact throughout the full academic cycle, starting with initial inquiries through graduation. This includes, but is not limited to, responding to program inquiries, student advising, coordinating admissions, maintaining student records, answering questions about the curriculum, course registration, academic worksheets, petitions, financial aid and connecting students to resources as necessary.
The Academic Coordinator is a 1-year term position.
Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years in higher education experience highly preferred. Experience with adult online learners strongly preferred. Familiarity with GSuite (Google Docs, Drive, Sheets, etc.) is preferred. Experience with counseling is helpful. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to connect with diverse stakeholders is extremely important. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The candidate should work well independently as well as part of a team. The candidate will have the ability to rapidly adapt and effectively utilize new technologies, practices, policies, and methods.
