Job description

Duties: A position is opening sometime between March and June for a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a position as an entry level research specialist. Work will involve completing experiments for a project studying how influenza viruses avoid human antibodies. Duties include serological assays, ELISAs, neutralization assays, molecular biology, RNA purification, RTPCR, and tissue culture. Previous experience with serological assays, molecular biology and tissue culture preferred.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Prior experience with, or fast-paced learning of, a broad range of virology and molecular biology laboratory techniques required. A strong interest in virology; excellent interpersonal and communication skills and desire to learn new techniques is required. Prior experience in a research laboratory is a plus.
