Duties: The Grants and Financial Coordinator provides general support for research initiatives throughout the Museum (including managing the Museum's sponsored research funds), as well as provides financial and administrative support to ensure efficient and timely daily operations. Manages monthly and quarterly financial reporting for departments, and ensures accurate and timely deposits. Grants management includes (a) post-award grant administration (budgeting awards, monitoring balances, ensuring compliance through determinations of allowability, allocability, and reasonableness of expenditures in accordance with sponsor guidelines, federal regulations, and university policies and regulatory requirements, initiating cost transfers, drafting extension requests and re-budgeting requests, assisting P.I.s in managing projects, making purchases and travel arrangements, working with University departments to arrange and issue payment for services, creating reports of post-award financial transactions and activity, reviewing and certifying official financial reports, creating reports for budgeting and development purposes, and representing Penn to sponsors) and (b) pre-award grant administration (assisting faculty, staff, and the Development Office with the preparation of proposals to external sponsors, developing budgets, reviewing proposals for administrative and regulatory compliance, meeting with university staff, creating and/or uploading grant submission materials into and NSF FastLane, aiding with sub-awards, consulting agreements, and related documents, liaising with Penn's Office of Research Services (ORS) and/or ORS at other institutions and funding agencies).

Qualifications: H.S diploma and 5 to 7 years of experience required, BA/BS in accounting or business administration preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge and experience with information technology including word processing, spreadsheets; knowledge of Penn financial and research administration accounting systems strongly preferred; demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
