Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

As the Business Manager, the position conducts all aspects of fiscal management, cost accounting, and budgeting activities for Distributed Learning (DL). Conducts technical and specialized assignments in support of business and fiscal management of department. Manages accounts payable, accounts receivable, department travel, and procurement. Maintains personnel files and serves as the DL liaison to Human Resources. Works on special projects and handles all internal and external contractual agreements.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Master's degree and 4 years related experience in business, public administration or administrative services, or bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of government fiscal accounting practices, legislative processes, and rate determination practices. Knowledge and familiarity with higher education support services.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

A strong knowledge of principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, auditing, budgeting, and financial management. Working knowledge of government fiscal accounting practices, legislative processes and rate determination practices. Knowledge or familiarity with higher education support services, management and organizational practices. Ability to present technical and non-technical data in a clear and concise manner. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion. Strong written and verbal skills to effectively and courteously communicate with team members.
