Summary of Job Duties

The Associate Director for Information Technology for University Housing is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions within the department. These functions include application development, desktop and residential network, system administration, server infrastructure and data analysis. This position works to meet customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions. The Associate Director for Information Technology develops and maintains working relations with campus partners to ensure University Housing IT operates within the confines of campus policies, guidelines, and processes.

This position requires the use of a cell phone in accordance with the cellular communications policy, Fayetteville Policies and Procedures 306.1

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • Bachelors degree or the equivalent in a computer/technology related field
  • At least seven years of prior experience in areas of Application Support/Programming, Desktop Support, Server Support, Systems Administration, and/or Network Support
  • At least four years supervisory experience

  • Master's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Experience directing employees in a technology-centered environment
  • Experience overseeing Information Technology processes for a large department
  • Experience in Higher Education and relevant technology

  • Knowledge of virtual server infrastructure
