The University of Kentucky HealthCare Enterprise (UKHC) is seeking a Nursing Operations Administrator. The duties of this position relate to our commitment to provide quality, safe, patient and family centric care to our patients and the people of Kentucky and beyond. This position supports the Assistant Chief Nurse Executive to whom it reports through ensuring, on a 24-hour per day basis, that safe, effective nursing care is given to patients in this area.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects 50lbs and above; occasionally standing and/or walking with objects 25lbs and above ; intermittently sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with repetitive motions (such as typing); and effectively communicating both verbally and in writing with patients, caregivers, and staff at all levels.



Shift

Primarily days, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. As an exempt level position, additional and on-call hours will be required to meet business needs.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical nursing experience with knowledge of professional nursing theory; have direct patient care experience; have the ability to lead and direct others toward goal setting and attainment, taking into account divergent demands while managing scope and timelines; will have demonstrated strong analytical and qualitative research experience; be well organized; have exceptional communication skills (written & verbal); enjoy working independently as well as closely with their co-workers in a supportive team environment; have outstanding computer skills (to include Microsoft Office); have above average customer service skills; have strong ability to engage and motivate others; possess active listening skills; and have a thorough understanding of resource and employee management.

MSN with administrative focus and 5 years of nursing management experience preferred.
