Job Information

Job Summary
  • The Temporary Data Assistant is responsible for maintaining alumni data in University databases and assisting with data entry, mailings, and other miscellaneous organizing projects for the Chicago Booth Office of Advancement.
  • This a temporary position expected to last 5-6 months.


Responsibilities:
  • Maintain data on records in Griffin and Community Directory, the database systems used by the Chicago Booth Alumni Relations & Advancement departments.
  • Compare multiple strains and sources of data and enter the appropriate information into the databases.
  • Assist the Advancement Services teams with tasks such as mailings, proofreading, data audits, and organizational projects.

  • Superior communication and written skills required.
  • Ability to ask clarifying questions and choose appropriate sources required.
  • Discretion in the handling of confidential information required.


Additional Requirements

Education, Experience and Certifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.


Experience:
  • A minimum one year of data entry or research-related experience in an academic or corporate setting required.
  • A minimum of two years of database maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with a higher education alumni database preferred.


Technical Knowledge or Skills:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Familiarity with University of Chicago alumni database system (Griffin, SunGard Advance product) and Chicago Booth databases (Community Directory, Symplicity product) preferred.
