With support from the University administration, the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin is pleased to invite applications for the following full-time, non-tenure-track position: Director of Training of the Master's Program in Counseling with a starting date of August 2018.
For this position, we are seeking a highly organized person who will help manage and monitor all aspects of the program. Priority will be given to applicants with expertise in school counseling and experience teaching and supervising school counseling students. Successful applicants will also demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse communities, culturally responsive counseling practices, and social justice, as well as have experience and/or interest in advising, and curriculum development.
The Counseling Program is located within the Department of Educational Psychology, currently ranked #6 according to the US News and Report. This program prepares students to serve as culturally competent, caring, and ethically responsible counselors to work in a variety of roles within academic settings, including schools (K-12) and post-secondary educational institutions (community colleges, colleges, and universities). We strive to prepare our graduates to advocate for every student to receive the highest quality education and promote the development of students' academic, emotional, social and physical wellbeing.
The ideal candidate for this position will: (1) have a doctorate in counseling or related field; (2) be licensed, license-eligible and/or certified in related fields (counseling, psychology, or school counseling); (3) have experience in teaching or supervision in academic settings (K-12, college readiness, higher education).
This is a full-time non-tenure track position. Salary for the position is commensurate with experience and background. A multi-year contract is assured pending a successful initial probationary year.
