Summary of Duties:
The Veterinary Intern will rotate between the College of Veterinary Medicine's Exotic and Wildlife Unit in eastern Washington and one or multiple non-profit wildlife rehabilitation centers (to be arranged) located in western Washington.

The Animal Welfare and Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is affiliated with the College of Veterinary Medicine's Exotic and Wildlife Department at Washington State University. The program aims to improve, strengthen, and expand:

a) Rehabilitator capability for treating and rehabilitating impaired wild animals, and
b) Public outreach materials and programs to promote animal-appropriate behaviors.

The position provides advanced training in clinical wildlife medicine to include hematology, parasitology, radiology, anesthesia, analgesia, orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, wound and fracture management, necropsy, safe handling techniques, and rehabilitation.

Required Qualifications:
Positions require DVM or equivalent degree.
