Job Description Summary:
The Web Specialist supports the University's web development and digital communications efforts. Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Communications, this position plays a key role in maintaining La Verne's online presence through targeted updates, constituent training, and providing support for digital campaigns of all types.
Execute content updates upon request. Updates include working within the WordPress content management system (CMS) and campus intranet, editing graphics for web and email campaigns, and other duties as assigned.
Assist the Manager of Web Development with WordPress maintenance and upgrades. Support web development projects as assigned.
Manage and correct broken links/images, typographical errors, and ADA accessibility issues throughout the main La Verne website.
Coordinate, test, and produce targeted email campaigns (information sessions, President updates/letters, invitations, events, et. al.) for constituencies across the University.
Generate ongoing analytics reports for email campaigns on an as-needed basis.
Research and recommend new and emerging technologies that can assist in greater efficiency for the position.
Assist Director or Social Media Manager in ongoing social media efforts/campaigns.
Perform other work and related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or programming-related field(s).
3 years of WordPress development.
2 years of Web production.
2 years of Online marketing.
1 year of Knowledge of Git repositories and VPN structure(s)
Linux/Unix command line edits
