Brief Summary of Work for this Position:
Assists and provides back-up to Tech Support Analyst with managing, maintaining and overseeing the parking system, database and subsystems of which parking data is stored and transferred. Assists or identifies system updates and upgrades to ensure full system reliability and stability. Troubleshoot and repair system problems through internal and/or direct interaction with vendors. Assists in training of employees on parking system upgrades. Assists with reporting functions of the parking database by utilizing Chrystal Reports and other means to create unique, informative and detailed reports. Oversees the installation and functionality of system hardware components including, but not limited to; handheld computers used by enforcement personnel, barrier gates, fee computers, validation systems, ticket dispenser and pay stations. Other duties may be assigned as business needs change.

N.C. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Graduation from high school and one year in the field of technology related to the positions’ role. Computer coursework may be substituted year for year for the required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Position requires proficient skills in business information systems and technology in order to effectively provide technical and program support for Parking, and Auxiliary Services operations along with recommending technical input for the ongoing development of computing resources.
Position requires excellent interpersonal skills and a strong problem solving and communication abilities.
Knowledgeable with O/S upgrades and system installations along with analyzing and helping resolve parking system problems.
Must have Working knowledge of data communications network (TCP/IP, Ethernet and WI-FI) and a strong database (SQL) script writing skills.
Must be able to troubleshoot malfunctions identify and correct problems
Must have research skills
Requires database experience, good interpersonal skills and organizational skills

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Prefer a bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Information Technology, or business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strongly prefer experience in higher education settings with campus Parking operations
Specific knowledge of Flex and Crystal Reports is preferred
Ability to communicate in written and oral form effectively with users who may not be coherent in clarifying malfunctions
Make sound decisions under stressful situations and work under time constraints
Ability to understand and write adhoc reports
Skilled in a Microsoft environment
Familiar with hardware and peripheral devices

Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position:
PC Technical Certification
• Competent in MS Office and MS Access
• Strong knowledge and experience working with computer application systems
• Knowledge of PCI certification and standards
• Working knowledge with data communications, network systems and security
• Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to details
• Meets deadlines and ability to handle stressful situations accordingly
• Must have ability to manage through crisis and extenuating circumstances

Recruitment Range: $39,000 - $48,500
NC Salary Grade Equivalency: 63
Hours Per Week: 1.0 (40 hours per week)
Months Per Year: 12 Months
Work Days: Monday - Friday
Work Hours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
