Position Summary

The College of William & Mary Counseling center invites applicants for a full-time staff clinician position (12 month continuing appointment). This person will serve as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing outpatient mental health treatment to enrolled students. Responsibilities include providing short-term individual psychotherapy, group therapy, crisis intervention services, supervision of doctoral trainees, consultation, and outreach activities.

Required Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited program by first day of employment. Applicants should also have completed all dissertation and internship requirements prior to starting date. Applicants must also have demonstrated experience in college counseling, excellent clinical skills, successful experience working with full range of human diversity, and a commitment to Student Affairs campus involvement. It is expected that the person in this position would obtain licensure as a psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia within 2 years of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the requirements, have an area of expertise relative to college-aged populations such as group psychotherapy; outreach; eating and body image issues; sexual and gender minorities.
Successful candidate will also have excellent oral and written skills.
