Position Summary

This position will assist Athletics Grounds staff with various tasks in assigned area, which include but are not limited to:
• Mowing
• Edging
• Blowing
• Litter pick up
• Weed control
• Over seeding
• Fertilizer applications
• Top dressing
• Plant installation and maintenance
• Sod installation
• Irrigation maintenance and repair
• Equipment maintenance
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions. Special note: this is a generalized representation of positions in this class and is not intended to identify essential functions per ADA. Examples of competencies are typical of the majority of positions, but may not be applicable to all functions.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Driver's license
• Some experience in grounds maintenance setting
• Must be able to operate manual and power machinery
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year in sports turf or golf course maintenance setting
• 2 year Associate's degree in Turfgrass Management, or currently working towards degree
• Experience in herbicide applications

Alternate Option

If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training & experience requirements, then management may consider other applicants. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.
