Campus and Community Coordinator

Job description

The Campus and Community Coordinator leads and coordinates the engagement in academic, career, and social development for students receiving services from the Office of Inclusive Services (OIS). This position reports directly to the director.

The Office of Inclusive Services at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs supports students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the academic, residential, social, career, and professional experiences of college life. This position is a full-time position. Some of the hours will fall outside of a typical 9-5 work schedule and may require the coordinator to support students on campus during evening classes and nighttime events.

Job Duties:

  • Create academic modifications with the input of the Inclusion Coordinator and Director
    • Acquire tests/quizzes/assignments for modification
      • Complete modifications and support student mentors to implement them
  • Develop and maintain course modification charts
  • Serve as an academic tutor as needed
  • Support and coordinate homework leaders
  • Lead homework club sessions at least 2 times per week
  • Develop, schedule and oversee on campus internships
  • Coordinate and implement technology access
    • Digital books and Read&Write Gold on student's computers
    • Meet with assistive technology specialists to research and implement AT for students to access and participate in their course work
  • Provide coverage for Student Mentors in the event of an absence
  • Be willing to obtain added training
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding educational information and records
  • Help to maintain a positive academic environment
  • Work as a member of the Office of Inclusive Services team
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

For the purposes of FLSA, this position has been determined to be non-exempt from (eligible for) overtime under FLSA.

Salary: $38,000.00

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • At least three years experience working with students with disabilities in inclusive settings

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct support in working with adults with disabilities; age 18-35
  • Successful experience in working with teams
  • Experience in leading and supporting colleagues
  • Commitment to equity for people with disabilities
