Bachelor's Degree Required
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
-Minimum of 2 years post-baccalaureate experience with technology systems development, administration and configuration in higher education admissions and/or higher education student services.
-Experience with admissions application system maintenance and configuration. iApply product experience is a plus.
-Experience with Oracle student information system and ability to query data.
--Familiarity with the process of developing, testing and implementing software.
--Experience with business process review and improvement.
--Experience working at the intersection between student services and information technology.
--Knowledge of UW-Madison academic structure, for both credit and non-credit populations.
-Experience with online scholarship application software.
-Experience with document imaging systems.
License or certificate:
This position focuses on supporting and managing technical systems and processes involved in Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) credit and non-credit learner initiatives. The person hired for the position will work within Adult Career and Special Student Services (ACSSS) within DCS. ACSSS is the admitting and dean?s office for special students as well as a number of non-credit programs with growing technology needs. This position will combine technical ability with admissions and advising business process familiarity in order to maintain and manage existing IT support systems and future opportunities. This position will also manage system configuration and will be responsible for auditing and troubleshooting system processes. The Information Specialist will serve in a project manager role for exploration and piloting of DCS learner-related IT initiatives as appropriate. Candidates for this position should have strong project management/organizational skills and be able to handle multiple projects concurrently. Additional relevant skills include the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users, as well as the ability to be engaged in ongoing learning and adapt to a variety of technical systems.
