Summary of Job Duties
The University of Arkansas System is embarking on a transformational Workday project for its Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP). The project will encompass a phased implementation of Workday's Financial Management, Human Capital Management, and Student Administration for all System entities. The overarching vision is for "the System to operate even more like a System" by bringing member institutions onto the Workday ERP platform for all major business functions. The System intends to adopt leading practices and consistent business processes as part of this initiative.
The University of Arkansas System is looking for an experienced finance professional to join our ERP leadership team. This position functions as the Finance/Procurement Lead on the ERP Team. Responsibilities include managing the software configuration, specification of integrations, testing, as well as supporting the deployment of the modules within Finance/Procurement, including General Ledger, Budget Control, Budget Development, Accounts Payable/Travel, Accounts
Receivable/Billing, Grants Management, Project Accounting, Asset Management/Inventory Management, Cost Allocation/Debt Management, Procurement/eProcurement, Cash Management, and Contracting/Vendor Management.
Management. Leads the team as the finance/procurement chief architect of the future System vision for processes, designs, and system configurations. Develops and maintains a high-performance cross-functional team, inclusive of the implementation partner's finance team. In conjunction with the implementation partner's finance lead, develops a detailed team work plan, manages day-to-day team operations, and tracks team performance. Uses consulting resources to rapidly build team competence.
Functional Activities. Provides standard business practice knowledge. Exhibits a thorough understanding of internal controls. Assists with technical specifications. Supports integration, interface, and conversion activities. Coordinates with UA System institutions and their finance knowledge experts to ensure functional requirements are met.
Issue and Risk Management. Identifies and resolves issues in a timely manner and rectifies performance discrepancies. Implements risk reduction and contingency plans. Identifies and analyzes risks and escalates issues that cannot be resolved within the team.
Quality Assurance. Complies with the project and deliverable quality standards. Ensures adequate project documentation. Notifies management team of implementation needs not being met and deviations from the project plan.
Training & Change Management. Establishes effective communication with the training team. Ensures accuracy of training materials. Identifies a course owner or subject matter expert (SME) for each training course. Assists with the development of clear and effective documentation for communication with users, sponsors, and process owners. Coordinates input of finance area content to change management and end-user training team.

- The educational equivalent of Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least five years of experience leading or managing complex projects within the area of finance
- At least three years of supervisory experience
- Must be able to work collaboratively and travel throughout the State to various UA campuses on an average of once a week as needed
